Joshua's Genocide

Joshua's Genocide: The Conquest of Cana'an

At the time of writing this, June of 2024, Israel is already waging war on the "Amalekites" of our time. Israel has returned to its Bronze age roots as it relentlessly massacres civilians without discrimination for woman or child. Many look upon this with great shock, but this isn't really anything new to the Israelites. It's described in great detail in their holy book, the Tanakh, on how their holy land was not really given, but conquered, its people removed. This essay details the roots of genocide in Israel or as it once was known as, Cana'an.

“My servant Moses is dead. Prepare to cross the Jordan, together with all this people, into the land that I am giving to the Israelites...."
-Joshua 1:2

The Book of Joshua details the conquest of the promised land (Cana'an) by the Israelites under the command of Joshua, by the will of God. In this opening passage, after 40 years of wandering, the time has come to settle down. The Promised land came with its tenants however, the kings of Cana'an had settled there before the Israelites. In Deuternomy 20, under the authorization of God, the inhabitants of Cana'an. It is dictates:

“As for the towns of these peoples, which Adonai your God is giving you as your inheritance, you are not to allow anything that breathes to live. Rather you must destroy them completely — the Hitti, the Emori, the Kena‘ani, the P’rizi, the Hivi and the Y’vusi — as Adonai your God has ordered you; so that they won’t teach you to follow their abominable practices, which they do for their gods, thus causing you to sin against Adonai your God...."

After the death of Moses, who was cursed to never step foot into the Promised Land, Joshua became leader of the Israelites. He led his army across the Jordan river with the full intention to massacre the natives of the land to establish living space for the Jewish people.

So the troops shouted when the horns were sounded. When the troops heard the sound of the horns, they raised a mighty shout and the wall collapsed. The troops rushed into the city, every man straight in front of him, and they captured the city.
They exterminated everything in the city with the sword: man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey.

-Joshua 6:21-22

These verses take place after the Capture of Jericho, the first city to fall to the Israelites. Joshua 6 describes in detail the event and its aftermath. As we read in Joshua 6:21 and 6:22; after the city falls, all the inhabitants except Rahab the Harlot and her family were massacred. They even killed the lifestock. This brutal display of religious zealotism is common through out the Book of Joshua as different cities are conquered. The Israelites want to make their claim to Cana'an as solid as possible, and under the divine right of conquest, they saw it fit to eliminate the Cana'anites who were seen as sexual deviants and heretics. Essentially, this was "cleansing of God's enemies".

And when the kings were brought out to Joshua, Joshua summoned everyone on Israel’s side and ordered the army officers who had accompanied him, “Come forward and place your feet on the necks of these kings.” They came forward and placed their feet on their necks.
Joshua said to them, “Do not be frightened or dismayed; be firm and resolute. For this is what GOD is going to do to all the enemies with whom you are at war.”

-Joshua 10:26-27

These verses take place after the Gibeonites are defeated, where Joshua commands the Sun and Moon to halt. Joshua assures the Israelites that they are doing the right thing, because God is on their side. He justifies the massacres, pillaging and enslaving because God has given the Chosen People the authority to commit such actions. These verses perfectly demonstrate the hubris of Zionists, for they believe, that like Joshua, God is on Israel's side so all the warcrimes they commit against the Palestinians are completely justified.
